How to Apply for Delhi University Through CUET

 If you want to study at Delhi University (DU), you must now apply through CUET, which is the Common University Entrance Test. This exam is conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) for admission into UG courses across many central universities.

Delhi University no longer gives admission based on Class 12 marks. You must clear CUET to get a seat in DU colleges. In this blog, you will learn step-by-step how to apply for DU through CUET.

What is CUET?

CUET is a national-level entrance test. It is held once a year for UG admissions. The exam is online and includes MCQs. CUET is used by many top universities like Delhi University, BHU, JNU, and more.

Step 1: Check Your Eligibility

Before applying, make sure you are eligible.

  • You must have passed Class 12 or be appearing in the current year.

  • There is no age limit.

  • Different courses need different subjects. Check DU’s official website for subject combinations.

Step 2: Visit the CUET Official Website

Go to the official CUET UG website – https://cuet.nta.nic.in/

This is where you will fill out the CUET form. It is not the same as the Delhi University website.

Step 3: Register and Fill Application Form

Click on the “Register” button. Enter your name, mobile number, and email ID. You will get a login ID and password.

Now log in and fill in your personal details. This includes:

  • Name, address, and contact info

  • Class 10 and 12 marks

  • ID proof details

Then, choose your exam centres, preferred subjects, and universities. You must select Delhi University from the university list.

Step 4: Select Subjects Wisely

This step is very important. DU follows strict rules for subject selection.

  • You must choose the same subjects in CUET that are required for your preferred course at DU.

  • For example, if you want BCom (Hons), choose English, Accounts, Business Studies, and Maths.

  • For BA (Hons) English, select English Language and relevant domain subjects.

You can find the required subject combinations on the DU admission portal.

Step 5: Upload Documents

You need to upload:

  • A scanned photo and signature

  • Class 10 and 12 marksheets (if available)

  • Caste certificate (if applicable)

  • PwD certificate (if applicable)

Make sure all documents are in the right format and size.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

The fee depends on how many subjects you choose.

  • ₹750 for General category (up to 3 subjects)

  • ₹700 for OBC/EWS

  • ₹650 for SC/ST/PwD

You can pay online using UPI, card, or net banking.

After payment, download the confirmation page.

Step 7: Appear for CUET Exam

Once your form is submitted, wait for the admit card. It will be released on the CUET website.

CUET is held in multiple shifts. The paper will have:

  • Language test

  • Domain subject test

  • General test (optional for some courses)

Prepare well using NCERT books and previous year question papers.

Step 8: Register on Delhi University Portal

After the CUET result is out, you must apply again on the DU CSAS portal (Common Seat Allocation System).

Here you will:

  • Choose your preferred colleges and courses

  • Upload CUET scorecard

  • Submit final details

Based on your score and college preference, you will get a seat.

Step 9: Accept the Seat and Verify Documents

If you get a seat, you must accept it online. Then, upload the required documents for verification.

Once approved, pay the admission fee. Your seat is now confirmed.

If you don’t accept the seat in time, you may lose the chance.
